Netflix, Rdio, Spotify, Facebook, Hulu, YouTube - all these things are built well and lots of people spend time on them. Hell, people pay money to some of them. Indie venue websites are usually atrocious, lacking even basic info, rarely updated. But, please, indie venues; keep thinking a Facebook Page and a website updated once a month is enough.
